The Shenandoah Valley area is home to many things, including Jellystone Park™ in Luray, Virginia! Knowing this, it’s probably no surprise that the area sees many visitors throughout the season. People here love to enjoy the mountain scenery, hike and bike, and roast marshmallows over the campfire…but did you know that there are many other fun things to do in the area? Whether you’re looking for beautiful nature, a thrilling afternoon, or want to relax on the river, there are numerous ways to spend the day! Keep reading for 4 of the best things to do in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia while visiting Jellystone Park™.
Skyline Drive & Shenandoah National Park
We’ve said it once (or twice, or many times), but we’ll say it again – Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park is an amazingly beautiful spot to visit. With its numerous scenic outlooks, hiking trails, and historical markers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And, we are privileged to be located just 5 miles down the road from the Thornton Gap Entrance!
Another one of our favorite attractions to visit in the area is Luray Caverns. Grab the whole family to discover the largest caverns in the eastern United States! Tours of the cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10 stories high are available too!
The Garden Maze
While you’re at Luray Caverns, stop over at the Garden Maze for some family fun! It’s the largest hedge maze in the Mid-Atlantic states with eight foot tall hedges creating a pathway of puzzlement!

Downriver Canoe Company
Whether you prefer to relax in a canoe, kayak, or float the river in a tube, Downriver Canoe Company can hook you up! Enjoy an afternoon on the river with spectacular scenery, great swimming, and awesome fishing! Your next river adventure awaits!
